covid-19 Update & Virtual social

While we wait for the USAFL and local authorities to give us the go ahead to recommence our season, the board has decided to put together a virtual "In The Sheds" session for players and supports to join us online for a video meeting to talk footy, check-in on each other and discuss how our season will restart. This is a great chance for us to reconnect and keep in touch while we wait, and rumor has it there will be a special mystery guest attending our first meeting next week AND a special Sharks Edition Footy Quiz!

WHAT: Tampa Bay Tiger Sharks - Virtual "In The Sheds" Meeting

WHEN: Thursday May 14th, 9:00pm EST

WHERE: GoToMeeting:

WHO: Anyone - players, supporters, ex-players, footy tragic

BYO: Your favorite beverage

Our current plan for restarting our season is to play out the last few metro games of our season locally, including another beach game on Treasure Island. We will then play our final game of the 2019-2020 season in Fort Myers against the Fort Lauderdale Squids, and finish off with a traditional end-of-season awards night and party in St Petersburg, before we adjourn overt the scorching summer months - so stay tuned!

remembering pat bilder

The board would also like to recognize the generosity and support of the family and friends of Pat Bilder. We have received $2025 from donations in Pat's memory, which the board has set aside to use to grow our club and attract new members - which was exactly what Pat had made his personal mission at our club.

Separately, the board as decided to work with the City of St Petersburg over the summer to dedicate a tree with a commemorative plaque next to our beautiful Flora Wylie ground to honor Pat's memory. For our 2020-2021 season and beyond, we will have a living reminder of our lost friend.

Tiger Shark Recruitment Efforts...

Welcome the very beautiful Olivia Grace Crittenden, daughter of proud parents, Aaron and Sarah, and future Sharks center half back superstar and defensive stalwart.

Welcome the strapping Hamish Carter Jones, son of equally proud parents, Clint and Jessica, and future Sharks full forward and champion goal kicker.

Thanks to both the Crittenden and Jones families for giving us some truly joyful news - we can't wait to see you all together on a Saturday morning sometime soon and meet our future club champions!

farewell claire and tom!

We sadly bid farewell to Claire Conley and Tom Mathew, as they have now completed their relocation to their new home in Washington DC to begin the next exciting chapter of their lives. Both have been instrumental in the journey so far for our club, with Claire's role as Club Treasurer and Tom as Director of Football Operations being pivotal to the growth of our club. The abrupt suspension to our season has meant that we were not able to bid them adieu properly, so we hope to see them on our Virtual Tiger Shark Meeting next week.

On behalf of the entire footy club and the board - thank you Tom and Claire for all of your support, passion and friendship over the years. You were great team mates on and off the field, and you are already missed!
